Unzipping the pluginΒΆ
Sunflower is distributed in binary form, as a zipped archive.
As an Eclipse plugin, Sunflower is compatible with Mac OS Yosemite, Linux and Windows. It can run on 32-bit or 64-bit hardware. The Sunflower binary comes precompiled in the following flavors:
- sunflower-studio-ce-linux.gtk.x86.zip
- sunflower-studio-ce-linux.gtk.x86_64.zip
- sunflower-studio-ce-macosx.cocoa.x86.zip
- sunflower-studio-ce-macosx.cocoa.x86_64.zip
- sunflower-studio-ce-win32.win32.x86.zip
- sunflower-studio-ce-win32.win32.x86_64.zip
The first step in Sunflower installation is to unzip the appropriate archive for your hardware platform.
In Windows, after unzipping the chosen archive, a folder named sunflower-studio-ce will be created with the content of the main application, all support software packages, this manual, and sample ontologies, as shown in Fig. 2.

In Mac, after unzipping, you will find a disk image file or DMG where all Sunflower software is bundled together. Double click the DMG to reveal 2 items: Sunflower executable and a doc folder, as shown in Fig. 3. Before you launch Sunflower, these 2 items should be copied to another location on your Mac.
